We continue to improve our building, surroundings, and programming. Since we last met in September of 2008, with the help of the Kranz Family Foundation, we have created a garden and safe passageway where once there was an alley. The exterior of our building has been completely updated with new paint, lower level entrance, patio, sidewalks, drainage, signage, and the soon to be completed hand-wrought handrails and entrance gate designed and fabricated by Ed Zmarzly. These arguably spectacular changes have happened because you and our community support our mission by generously donating time, talent, and resources to our cause. We honor your trust and pledge to always be good stewards of these resources.
Fundraising and planning is ongoing for the next phases of our Art of Renovation. We plan to renovate (at long last) the lower level pottery studio. Some work has already been done, but much remains such as re-configuring the space to maximize the work area and storage. Kilns need to be enclosed and improved ventilation installed, along with the relocation of the sinks. New finishes need to be installed on all surfaces. We will then move up to the west portion of the building to enclose classroom #4 and reconfigure the kitchen. With that, the Art of Renovation will be complete!
